Here’s one for the rumormill . A food editor tells Fork in the Road that they are “pretty sure” they saw Harold Dieterle chilling at the papered over restaurant space that was once home to Philippe Chow Express . Dieterle, who was actively searching for a restaurant space as recently as a few months ago, tells the blog he’s not ready to talk.

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen an IMterview around these parts. For which we apologize. And present, this, not a formal Shitshow Week review (the restaurant is too small time and quirky), but rather a post-game analysis with Team Eater and Voice restaurant critic Robert Sietsema .

From the tipline : “The tables at the Bar section of DBGB : no reservation, first come first serve…so when it’s crazy busy you literally need to stand up by a table, wait for the customers to finish and jump on the table before others do. The result is an incredible tension between customers that ruins the whole experience.” [Eater Tipline]

A Zap2It writer, while attending NBC’s fall press tour, was able to sample some food from Top Chef Just Desserts contestants, and apparently it ranges from the slightly precious (lavender pavlovas with lychee, raspberry & rose petals) to the glittery ( lemon meringue tart with “disco blueberries” ).

The Red Hook Lobster Pound, the popular source of lobster rolls in Brooklyn, is expanding its sit-down area by 40 seats in about two weeks . There will be “white walls, shiny metal lamps, ceiling fans, a poured cement floor, and a huge screen door to cover what is currently a tall pull-down metal door — to let the breeze in.” Currently, they just have two benches.

The Wall Street Journal has a write up of the burlesque shows now taking place every other week at the Oak Room at the Plaza Hotel, a once truly classic, once proud New York restaurant . But Simon Hammerstein shouldn’t worry – these shows steer clear of the raunchiness that you would find at the Box or other downtown burlesque performance and probably go great with the classic $16 Caesar Salad.

Smoked Chicken Sausage with Cherries It’s been more than a year since my last visit. It’s been eighteen long months since I ate at this heavenly sausage grill but I’m here to report that the sausages remain as delicious as my memory. Rosamunde Sausage Grill in San Francisco today has two locations, besides the original they are now in the Mission District. I returned to the Lower Haight location with my niece, to introduce her to this savory institution. We walked here from my house and back again, as a bargaining chip for eating one and a half sausages each

A server reports that Saturday night was the last night and that Brennan owes over $100,000 to his purveyors. But here’s where it gets really interesting.

Unmissable fun for some, hellish stupidity for others… try going down (or rather ‘up’) to Montmartre to rub shoulders with the 500,000 other people in attendance and form your own opinion… photo by titou.net used under cc licence It’s the 77th edition of one of the most popular post-summer events. This year it going to be ‘funny’ too, with comedy shows and a famous sponsor in the form of Gérard Jugnot (a star in France, probably unheard of where you come from). Expect theatre, concerts, cooking lessons, themed walks, the giant parade… photo by titou.net used under cc licence photo by parispassion used under cc licence …the ‘marriage non-requests’ (still don’t know what that means) and the firework show to finish the whole thing off! photo by parispassion used under cc licence With all the madness going on, let’s not forget that the sale of Montmartre wine helps benefit the associations of the area, aiding them to aid others.
