In those moments (or days or weeks or years) when we “experience” our heart or the heart of another as being closed, what actually is is occurring is that we/they are identifying more with the chaos, confusio

chemerinsky sits down for cameras to discuss his "next big thing."

[cynthia]The ABA Journal has a profile of Erwin Chemerinsky and UCI’s new law school up today, and it includes a 3 minute video with interviews with Chemerinsky and an enrolled student. The news isn’t new (full tuition scholarships for the inaugural class, traditional grades but no class rankings) and overall the video is pretty promotional in nature. It is interesting, however, to see Chemerinsky’s enthusiasm despite criticism over the funding poured into the new school, and 1L Luke Boughen’s e

Farwell, LeNell: Whiskey Queen Leaving New York for Mexico

Last night, the good folks behind Spirited Cocktails attended an American Whiskey tasting at Louis 649 where LeNell Smothers announced that she’s leaving New York for Mexico. Since losing the lease on LeNell’s Wine & Spirits Boutique in Red Hook earlier this year, Smothers had denied numerous rumors that she was moving to London or Amsterdam, maintaining she was looking for another storefront somewhere in the city. But in the video on the Spirited Cocktails site, Smothers clearly states that “I’m moving to Mexico and hoping to open a cocktail bed and breakfast-type thing, very small and intimate.” After Smothers opened her store in 2003, it became a destination for spirits lovers, particularly those in thrall to its impressive bourbon selection

BEIJING HUANYING NI! just like the song.

HouHai is an area in the center of Beijing that surrounds a man-made lake, where the Chinese teens love renting paddle or electric boats and spending the night i n the somewhat smelly lake. … The lake is surrounded by bars and restaurants, all of which are pricy for what things in China SHOULD be, and with English menus for tourists….I navigated our way to the restaurant using a map we had and when we got to the street, it was a neighborhood of diplomats and international cuisine

Elecom Travel Mouse Can Hide Its USB Cable Under Its Skirt

By Andrew Liszewski Because of its small size and even smaller receiver, I typically advocate Logitech’s wireless VX Nano mouse for travelers not thrilled with their laptop’s touchpad. But it can be a bit high-priced at times, so if you’d prefer to go with a more inexpensive corded model, the Elecom M-MK1UR features a handy rubber skirt that can be lifted allowing you to wind up and store the USB cable when not in use

Current Mortgage Rates: Don’t Miss the Boat … Again

Still low by historical standards, current mortgage rates are expected to remain “exceptionally low for an extended period.” For millions of homeowners that hoped to refinance into a lower mortgage rate earlier in the year but waited too long as rates rapidly increased from the low-to-mid 4% range to the mid 5% range, these words by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernake should resonate into an unprecedented second chance. Additionally, first-time homebuyers eager to exercise the fede
