It has been quite a few months since I had the courage to participate in my Adopt-a-gluten-free-Blogger event . I have always been quite devoted to the idea of following my fellow bloggers’ recipes as written the first time around, and my limited ingredient options during the past few months made this difficult to say the least. However, being top eight-allergen free and rice shy at the moment, it occurred to me that the one blogger who might have options for me was our own Allergic goddess, Karina.

Hi all A bit of a strange question – my sister is making me ask it! She hasn’t been to India before and is a bit concerned about train travel. She’s wondering if we could book 4 berths in 2AC, even though there are just two of us – to ensure that we get the cabin to ourselves

You may know that I have a crush on raw foods. After all, barring a few instances of nama shoyu (fresh wheat soy sauce) raw foods are mostly gluten free and almost always vegetarian (depending on who you ask). That’s why avoiding nuts for Baby Yum may be one of the more difficult restrictions, because some of my favorite raw food dishes at restaurants or at home require them

As you might have noticed, Baby Yum has been keeping me extremely busy lately. So busy that there have been fewer posts here at the Book of Yum, but I still post at least once a week. With less posting and Baby Yum’s allergies, you might think that I haven’t been cooking much- but it couldn’t be further from the truth! With Baby Yum’s allergies improved I’ve incorporated more foods into my diet, including sorghum.

So my parents won a Club Mahindra resort free vacation – 2 nights and 3 days to select Club Mahindra resorts. The select resorts include: Ashtamudi Binsar Coorg Dharamshala Munnar Gangtok Manali Kumbhalgarh Mashobra (Shimla) Mahabaleshwar Naukuchiatal Thekkady Panchgani Yercaud It doesn’t include food, travel and other expenses – I’m planning to cover that myself for my parents.

The food is consistently good, and the lentil-walnut burger, chicken burrito, and garlic fries are my favorites. Bring back the vegan wrap!! Service, on the other hand, is spotty. One day you’ve got your food in 15 minutes and water up the wazoo, and the next it takes an hour for your companions’ food and another 20ish minutes for yours and then they bring the wrong thing and GOD IT IS SO FRUSTRATING.

I thought it might be good to second RichBeBe’s review from 2008. I have also tried everything on the separate vegan part of their menu and am astonished at the high quality they are offering to what might be considered a fringe clientele. The staff is lovely and accommodating, and the tables are spread out enough that I don’t have his problem with food on other customers’ tables! Very convenient to the 71st/Continental subway hub (E, F, G, R, V).
