With Silvio Berlusconi at the graduation ceremony, what better opportunity than to spruik for a new faculty, possibly headed by his daughter?

After news of a possible discover of a new Caravaggio painting – “San Lorenzo” – the painting has been determined not to be of Caravaggio origin. The ‘Martirio di San Lorenzo’ was originally reported by the Vatican newspaper, Osservatore Romano, as possibly being by Caravaggio, but the newspaper has since revealed that this is most likely not be the case. The head of the Vatican Museums , Antonio Paolucci, has stated that the Saint Lawrence work is most likely a copy of an original Caravaggio

The Commonwealth Games celebrates the athletic exploits of sovereign states once part of the vast British Empire. One explicit intention of the Olympic-style event is to foster a sense of unity among nations who, because of a mutual experience and history through links to the Crown, share a common bond (or bondage, as it was).

Finding budget accommodation in Verona is, in fact, not that difficult at it seems to be a city which has taken up the Bed&Breakfast formula more readily than other tourist locations in Italy. Verona is a fabulous city to visit – small but large enough to be interesting for a couple of days, picturesque and not to mention the scene of wonderful opera in the summer. UK newspaper the Guardian has put together a ranking of Verona’s best B&Bs, which can still be a little pricey but it’s not an exhaustive list

George Clooney is spending a few days of rest in his Italian villa on lake Como ; actually the actor has been seen pottering around in the garden – getting everything ready for the arrival of his Italian girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis I guess! The couple will probably stay at the villa until 27 June when the inhabitants of Isola Comacina celebrate the sagra with spectacular (and very romantic) fireworks but this time paparazzi won’t get any pictures of the happy couple: the mayor of Laglio has just banned them from the village in order to protect Mr Soave’ s privacy! When it comes to elegance and style Italians win hands down even at beach; this at least is what came out of a tripadvisor poll of 2,500 travellers. The French and Spanish got second and third place respectively while the Americans, Britons and Germans have been voted as the worst dressed in the world; for Britain this is not the first time either! Back in March, in a website poll it was voted the worst dressed nation in Europe! Source | Ansa Photo | Flickr

This wonderful Italian picture shows just how much the Italians take their coffee seriously . The owner of this bike is using a little gas burner to make his Moka coffee off the back of his Moto Guzzi Stelvio bike. What’s more, the gas burner looks like a custom fit for the bike’s rear end – could Moto Guzzi be going into the motorcycle coffee accessory business?
