First, we received this West Seattle Crime Watch report e-mailed by Melody : Our neighbor on 13th Ave SW has his car stolen sometime on Sunday evening. It was found on 11th Ave SW in good shape– and nothing went missing. The cops said this was the 7th car in the last week to have been stolen within a 4-block radius of 13th and Henderson.

This summer, we jumped in our pink Cadillac and hit the road. As we indicated a few months back , our Stateside voyage across to the last frontier was a hotel hunt of epic proportions and turned in some treasure… We couldn’t believe our luck when we stumbled upon Dunton Hot Springs (left), a one-time ghost town, sat snug in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains . The old mining village has been converted into cosy boutique cabins, and you can still have a drink in the original Saloon, where former patrons have included Butch and Sundance.

Yesterday Naomi Campbell arrived in Venice with her Russian fiancé billionaire Vladislav Doronin in tow and after spending the whole day shopping, the former top model walked down the red carpet, showing off her perfect pigeon-toed gait for which back in the 1990 she was really famous! Depending on who you speak to, it can be argued that the name “Piada Italian Street Food” is a little misleading; after all, with such a bustling and quickly growing street food scene here in Columbus, there’s an almost unwritten expectation that our street food be, you know – actually served on the street , out of a cart, taco truck , or even in an obviously ethnic store front tucked away in an otherwise long forgotten strip mall in what used to be the burbs but are now huge ethnic strongholds.

Sure, five-star hotels like The Peninsula Tokyo , The Carlyle in Manhattan, and the French Riviera’s Palais de la Mediterranee have some pretty awesome views from their rooms. But their bathrooms often take advantage of these spectacular vistas, too. ABC News Travel has published a round-up of the world’s best hotel bathroom views

Last night Eater popped by Animal for a quick bite and uncovered just the slightest bit of news surrounding Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo’s new restaurant on Third Street . The pair plan to export some of the Animal staff over to the new eatery, and they are also just beginning to hire employees. So, that means, they are probably about three weeks away from opening.

[Photo: OpenIDEO ] Eater National discovers that ABC has called for a second season of the Emmy Award-winning series Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution . Fun for Angelenos because rather than returning to West Virginia, season two takes place right here in LA . Apparently Oliver will save the fatties in the City of Angels.

Bringing their Philly-inspired hoagies and industrial chic aesthetic to Bethesda, Casey Patten and David Mazza opened their third Taylor Gourmet today at 7280 Woodmont Ave. Like the original on H Street NE and the second in the City Vista building, the new gourmet deli and market receives a daily supply of fresh bread from Sarcone’s bakery in Philadelphia for the sandwiches

Fowey, an achingly picturesque village on the south coast of Cornwall, is a fantastic little spot to spend a bank holiday weekend. Blessed with charming narrow streets, expansive harbour views and some lovely old pubs serving great local beers, it has a lot going for it, and you’d have to be incredibly unlucky to have a bad time here. The secret of a good holiday, I always think, is the management of expectations.

After cooking around DC in some good (Ethiopian food quickfire) and some yawn-inducing (vague Cold War metaphors) challenges, Bravo Top Chef DC ‘s final cheftestants are heading to delicious Singapore for the finale. In a series first, the chefs go international for the final leg of the competition, the first part of which airs Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 10 p.m

Postcards from summer (clockwise from top left): Mom’s muffaletta, a spicy cocktail recreated, raw New England clams on a boat, home boiled peanuts, steamed NC clams, a sandy afternoon in Martha’s Vineyard (those are not my feet, thank you) It feels like the first day of school to me. My summer vacations are all behind me (boo!), and instead of a backpack full of new school supplies, I have a brand new site (yay!).

While fully admitting that I was coming into Blue Surge expecting it to be a fantastic work (I have seen the work of Sabrina Evertt and her team at Twenty Something Productions before, with Prodigals – read my review here ), I always try to enter a new play devoid of any preconceptions. I was definitely not disappointed

Chef Robert Wiedmaier’s latest project, Mussel Bar , opened in July in Bethesda. As you may guess from the name, this casual Flemish gastro-pub specializes in mussels and frites, which Wiedmaier does so very well at his Brasserie Beck . The menu features nearly a dozen preparations of the bivalves, including green curry with lemon grass; Delirium fennel, lemon and Stilton cheese; tomato fondue, capers and garlic; and classic white wine with garlic and parsley
