a tagine at Alhambra The rich history of the Mediterranean region comes alive at Chicago’s Alhambra Palace . Located in the hip West Loop neighborhood, Alhambra is a restaurant, theater and dance club under one exotic roof. This grand, 1000 seat destination boasts marble archways, ornate Spanish tiles and intricate, hand-crafted furniture imported from Morocco, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt. Decorated with spice-colored, velvet curtains draped over entrances and hookahs hanging from the bar, this place oozes drama.

Spanish Snacking – Tapas in Barcelona, Spain Tapas are an important part of the Spanish diet. A snacker by nature, tapas work well into my daily eating pattern. In the evenings I sample olives with a glass of white, or munch a couple Basque style stacked tapas with a glass of bubbly cider (the adult variety).
