In-N-Out Burger Mania = Huh?

In-N-Out Burger busy I am no longer an In-N-Out Burger virgin. When you’re a reporter within the restaurant trade industry, it’s a rare chain whose name you don’t at least recognize. So I’d heard of In-N-Out Burger for years, but it wasn’t until I read Tricia Honea’s blog post here at Uptake on the chain that I had an inkling it was a fast food favorite.

This always happens when the weather finally gets warm in San Francisco, and if we walk by the delicious smells of Contigo while out walking our dog.

The staff of the Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche vote for PHPA 2010

Our staff takes an active part in PHPA! Their collective vote for the prizewinner counts as one vote of the jury. For example, yesterday at the Hôtel Design Sorbonne they all got together in the breakfast room for a serious photo study… and a lighthearted chat! Look at the effort they put in! Apart from the main prize that they collectively vote towards, the staff have their own personal prize, decided just by themselves. Called the Virginie Clément prize (after one of the hotel’s employees taken by cancer) the winner get a mega-giant bottle of champagne! Check back here tomorrow for details of the winners of the two prizes, after they have been announced this evening at the Théâtre de l’Odéon, durning the exhibition inauguration!

A few years ago, while traveling in Mauritius, I caught an episode of “Deep Fried Paradise” on the Travel Channel.  I found myself captivated – one, that someone would create an entire television show dedicated to deep fried food – had they heard my secret wish for such a thing?  Second, that a restaurant only about 15 miles away from my U.S.

Mas Empanadas, Please!

Mas Empanadas: homemade with natural ingredients I’m a big fan of versatile foods. It is great when you find that perfect edible item that can just as easily be stuck in your purse and eaten on the go as it can be savored with a fork and knife at a sit down meal. Burritos and sandwich wraps have long occupied this highly valuable class of chow

Amusement parks = hot dog heaven I have a lot of my mother in me. If you don’t like the food and prices at amusement park-style concession stands, then for Pete’s sake, don’t plan your day so that you have to eat there. But my husband is an in-law and apparently one who did not get the memo

Sydney one weekend, Neustadt, Germany the next. And it seems the rain has followed me from Sydney, via Delhi to Neustadt.
