Competition that Improves the Soul

Last night’s episode of Top Chef Masters on Bravo, which has been mostly pretty dull, tried to pit the masters against each other but instead turned into something pretty wonderful. The challenge was that each chef bought ingredients for one of the other chefs to use to create his dish. The producers were probably hoping to set the chefs at each others’ throats, but that’s not what happened. Each chef chose ingredients that he thought would challenge the other, but not debilitate him.The camerader

Celebrity Foodies/Chefs

I’ve been reading/hearing a lot lately of the celebrity chef.  I think that this term is becoming an inaccurate blanket term that covers people who don’t necessarily belong under that category.  With Food Network gathering more and more watchers and other networks such as Bravo, Oxygen and the Travel Channel adding chef shows of one sort or another to their roster, the American public is taking much more interest in the foodie culture. I, myself, have been a fan of the Food Network since I was

They “don’t want to disappoint” by setting an opening date yet, but the people working to open the Porterhouse restaurant/bar in the former Blackbird space next to the Admiral Theater told us today during a quick sneak-peek tour that they are getting closer.
