On being married to a cook

As I wrote in my previous post, Alan wasn’t a cook, chef, or in the industry at all when we dated or got married.  He did a career change two-and-a-half years ago; going from the corporate world to the culinary world.  And I have to say, it was one of the best decisions we’ve made as a couple.  Another great decision we made was moving away from Chicago to Chapel Hill.  When we first got down here, Alan got a line cook position at a place that was closed Sundays and Mondays, so we had Sundays

On becoming married to a cook

Hilary over at Desperate Chefs’ Wives is dealing with a 17 day stretch of her chef pulling doubles with no scheduled days off.  She’s written some good posts about it and there have been a few interesting discussions in her comments about it.  Many women have found her website (like I did) to find support or learn what it is like being married to a chef.  Some of the comments basically have said “I’m right there with you” and others are more in the realm of “How do you put up with it?”.  Some
